Introduction of Institute of Neural Injury and Rehabilitation
The major research directions of the Institute of Neural Injury and Rehabilitation are (i) basic researches on neural injury and rehabilitation, including basic research on stem cell treatment in central nerve injury rehabilitation, research on physiopathologic mechanism of spinal cord injury, research on neuroplasticity mechanism, basic research on genetic engineering in bladder function rehabilitation after spinal cord injury, basic research on expression and identification of differential serum proteins after brain injury, and research on tissue engineering technology in repairing of neural injury; (ii) clinical researches on neural injury and rehabilitation, including research on standardized rehabilitation and treatment of spinal cord injury, clinical research on functional reconstruction after spinal cord injury, clinical research on tissue engineering in promoting bladder regeneration of disabilities with myeleterosis, imaging research on cerebral cortex control center after spinal cord injury, research on the comprehensive prevention and control of upper urinary tract deterioration of patients with myelopathy in neurogenic bladders, clinical research on skull repairing operation opportunity and related influencing factors, clinical research on hydrocephalus after craniocerebral injury and clinical research on serum proteomics for patients with ischemic stroke; (iii) epidemiological and disease surveillance, including epidemiological investigation of spinal cord injury and network platform construction for spinal cord injure; (iv) clinical translation and product development, including development of active bio-scaffold for nerve regeneration, extension and verification of the diagnostic model for ischemic stroke serum biomarkers, formulation and extension of urodynamic quality control standards and clinical guideline for neurogenic bladder, development and application of the Multifunctional Bladder Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Apparatus in Vitro and the Implantable Bladder Pacemaker for spinal cord injury, and research and development of the fixed sonar navigation system inside pedicle screws in spine surgeries. The Institute of Neural Injury and Rehabilitation consists of 5 research platforms, which are basic research platform, clinical research platform, scientific and technological resources platform, achievement transformation platform and external coordination platform to provide scientific research service and support for scientific researchers. There are 14 PIs in the Institute of Neural Injury and Rehabilitation.
