Introduction of Institute of Epilepsy
The major research directions of the Institute of Epilepsy are (i) epidemiologic study on epilepsy; (ii) etiological study on epilepsy; (iii) diagnostic study on epilepsy; (iv) therapeutic study on epilepsy; (v) construction of epilepsy research platform; (vi) construction of epilepsy treatment system. The Institute of Epilepsy consists of 10 research offices, which are Epilepsy Epidemiology Research Office, Epilepsy Genetic Disease Research Office, Epilepsy Clinical Drug Research Office, Epilepsy Neuropathology Research Office, Epilepsy neuropsychology Research Office, Epilepsy Neuroimaging Research Office, Epilepsy Nerve Regulation Research Office, Epilepsy Electrophysiology Research, Epilepsy Drug R&D Research Office and Epilepsy Specimen Bank. There are 18 PIs in the Institute of Epilepsy.

Prof. Li-Ping Zou is the chief director of the pediatric department and center of pediatric medicine at the Chinese PLA General Hospital in Beijing. She is vice president of Beijing Society for Neuroscience (BJSN), and a standing committee member of the China Association Against Epilepsy (CAAE).
