Research of Prof. Jia and his team was mainly on basic and clinical studies of dementia, including:
1)    Established the largest sample bank of dementia in China, in order to facilitate the exploration in pathogenesis of cognition-related disorders;
2)    Carried out multi-center study of dementia and mild cognitive impairment(MCI) in China so as to figure out the status of dementia in China;
3)    Established the first registered network of the familial AD (FAD) in China, intending to explore the pathological mechanisms of AD;
4)    Established a novel AD animal model,PSEN1V97L mutation mice, basing on the previous findings of the team in Chinese FAD study, which provides new methods and tools in exploring the pathological mechanisms of AD;
5)    Found the crucial functions of AD-related pathogenic/susceptible genes and key proteins in Chinese populations, providing new evidence for the genetics studies of AD;
6)    Found new biomarkers and technology in early diagnosis and screening of AD, so as to effectively intervene and treat AD in the early stage.
