Scholarly Attainment:
Professor Zhao has focused on cerebrovascular disease and vertigo research, and made outstanding contributions in the fields of clinical, basic and translational medicine. He was the first to state clinical characteristics, present status of treatment and prognosis of hemorrhagic stroke in China comprehensively and systematically, which was funded by multiple projects, such as National Science and Technology Major Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, National Key Technology Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and National Natural Science Foundation of China etc. Also, Prof. Zhao has firstly completed the research of predicting the outcome of cerebral hemorrhage patients using CTA, and has created the probable standard to predict hematoma expansion by performing one-step multimodal CT and the risk stratification system of cerebral hemorrhage. Meanwhile, Prof. Zhao has co-established a healthy population-based cohort (Kailuan study) including a total of 101,510 participants, and has promoted the primary prevention and intervention of stroke in community, as well as establishing hundreds stroke units and its digital management system in China. He is leading in providing group practice of vertigo and creating new technology, and also popularized and standardized the treatment of dizziness or vertigo by public-speaking tours. Prof. Zhao has lots of patents for utility model and provincial science and technology awards. He was chosen as Beijing Medical High Level Academic Backbone, Beijing Medical High Level Academic Leader and the “Dengfeng” talent of Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals’ Ascent Plan. He has published many papers in the SCI journals with total IF>150 points, and participated in compiling many textbooks, academic books or articles, national norms and guidelines for diagnosis and treatment, etc.
