Personal Statement:
Dr. Xihai Zhao obtained his bachelor of Clinical Medicine (medical imaging) from Harbin Medical University in 1999, master of radiology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2004, and his Ph.D. of radiology from Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Postgraduate Medical School in 2007. He was working in Yangzhou No.1 People’s hospital as a radiologist from 1999 to 2007 and qualified as an attending physician in 2004. He worked as a Senior Research Fellow at University of Washington in Seattle from 2007 to 2010.

Research Interests:
-    Development of cerebrovascular magnetic resonance imaging techniques, particularly cerebrovascular atherosclerosis imaging
-    Development of peripheral vascular magnetic resonance imaging techniques
-    Postprocessing of cardiovascular multimodality imaging (CT, US, and MRI)
-    Clinical application of state-of-the-art cardiovascular and cerebrovascular magnetic resonance imaging
AcademicAchievements:
Dr. Xihai Zhao has played the role as Principle Investigator or Co-Principle Investigator for several grants funded by National Natrual Science Foundation of China, National "Twelfth Five-Year" Plan for Science & Technology Support, and Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. Dr. Zhao has published 40 papers in peer reviewed journals covered by SCI. He also presented more than 50 abstracts at international scientific conferences, such as International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), International Stroke Conference (ISC), and American Heart Association (AHA). He has received the Jim Pochen Award from the International Society of Magnetic Resonance Angiography in 2012.
